Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Entry Level Accountant to join our team in Los Angeles, California. This Contract to Permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in financial operations within the property management sector. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a strong commitment to accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities: - Collaborate with bank lenders to provide proof of property improvements, including gathering invoices and cleared checks for reimbursement submissions. - Record and track returned tenant checks for all properties, maintaining an accurate spreadsheet to monitor non-sufficient funds activity. - Prepare and upload daily positive pay files to the bank, ensuring accuracy in check activity. - Retrieve and upload bank statements for multiple accounts during designated cycles, typically two full days each month. - Perform account coding and reconciliation to ensure financial records are accurate and up-to-date. - Conduct detailed account analysis and review accounting entries to maintain compliance with organizational standards. - Support accounts payable functions by reviewing invoices and ensuring timely payments. - Assist in maintaining organized financial documentation to streamline reporting processes. Requirements - Associate degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet applications is required. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential. - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. - Familiarity with basic property management or banking processes is a plus but not mandatory. - Prior experience in account coding, reconciliation, and accounts payable is beneficial. - A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
