Dairy Farm Herdsman / Herd Manager opening on a 450 cow operation in north west Michigan . Duties include herd health operations from birth through lactation/dry off, and management of milking herd as well. Main responsibilities will include AI breeding, mastitis treatment, sick cows, maintaining records, giving I.V.'s, vaccinations, cow sorting, assisting veterinarian and hoof trimming. Working with owner in management of staff.
Must have knowledge of dairy cows, dairy equipment, vaccinations, heat detection, dairy health. Also, must be dependable, trustworthy, motivated and willing to work as a team player. Salary based on experience and education.
